Nestled in the heart of Wisconsin's Lake Country, the school boasts a beautiful green grass outdoor environment, and a large bright sunny classroom as well as an outdoor work area.   

We are conveniently located at the intersection of highways P (Brown St.) and Z (Lake Dr.) in the town of Oconomowoc, across from the Piggly Wiggly. 

From Delafield, we are 10 minutes from highway 83 and interstate 94.

From Hartland,  we are 5 minutes from highways 83 and 16.  

From Wales, we are 20 minutes from highways 83 and E.

Montessori recognized that physical activity and movement were closely linked to intellectual activity and learning.  She was a strong advocate of learning through physical manipulation.  Both small and large kinds of movement are part of the Montessori classroom experience.  In her writing she repeatedly pointed out the unhealthy nature of expecting, or demanding, that students be stationary, sit still or remain passive at school.  Opportunities for movement should be provided in the classroom as well as outdoors and in the gym.

At Oconomowoc Montessori we have access to over 5 acres of a beautiful grassy area. Part of the playground is enclosed for safety, and is equipped with swings, climbing structures and playhouses for children to run, climb, skip, jump or bounce.
